Founded in 1868, Oregon State University is one of only two US universities to have Land, Sea, Space and Sun grant designations. This means OSU is involved with world-changing research in all four areas, something unique among American universities, a very attractive fact for international students.
Oregon State is among the nation’s leading research institutions in a range of fields, including forestry, climate change, wave energy, sustainable food systems, computer science, environmental science, chemical and mechanical engineering and robotics. OSU’s programs attract thousands of international students every semester, from over 107 countries.
International students love OSU’s location. Situated in Corvallis, which has been ranked one of the safest, smartest, greenest small cities in the nation. This year it was dubbed a top five Most Beautiful College Town and Best Small City for Business and Careers in the U.S. And it has great natural areas, food and arts in a central location — near the coast, mountains, and Portland.
